Research Support Worker

We're looking for a research support worker to join our ground team for approximately three months and support a research project with Leeds Beckett University.

We are looking for somebody with oral and written fluency in English, and at least one language spoken by the communities we work with (eg., arabic, farsi, kurdish), and with some experience of academic research.

The support research worker will support the delivery of a qualitative research project exploring how migration shapes children’s participation, agency, autonomy, and access to free play. For a full role description, please look below. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

DIVERSITY & EXCLUSION DISCLAIMER:

We are an actively anti-racist organisation and we do not condone saviour complexes. While the warehouse we work in is made up of predominately white middle class people, we are actively trying to diversify this space. We encourage applications from people with lived experience, people of colour and people who speak relevant languages.

MENTAL HEALTH DISCLAIMER:

The context we work in can be difficult for many reasons. The effects of vicarious trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue are common. We also have long working days that can be tiring. In addition, the majority of us live and work together in a small team. While we have welfare provisions available for supporting each other and encouraging self-care, we ask that all applicants reflect on whether they are in a position to cope with the context and commit to volunteering with us at this moment in time, or whether they should reconsider at another point in the future.

Project Play is a registered charity in France, Charity No: W594012083. We are also under the umbrella of forRefugees, UK Charity No: 1168435. forRefugees raises money to give grants and emergency funds to small volunteer groups who work on-the-ground to support refugees across Europe. © Project Play 2020
