STOP BORDER VIOLENCE.
A new report from Project Play highlights the devastating impact of UK-funded border violence. Support our campaign for a public inquiry into UK spending at the border.

“[The police] bring out the knives and pepper spray then guns. I was like… I’m only a child. Why are you doing this?... we want to be safe and that’s it.”
- Miel*, 15, and Y*, 13,
In 2024 and 2025, 22 children lost their lives at the UK-France border.
These deaths did not happen in isolation. Since 2014, the UK government has spent at least £784 million funding border enforcement in northern France, while at the same time restricting and removing access to safe routes to asylum.
Our new report centres the voices and experiences of the children and families we worked with in 2025 to trace the policy and funding decisions that gave rise to this violence, and to make the case for accountability and urgent change - centrally, calling for a public inquiry into UK spending at the border.
